Could the Buffalo Bills trade for Los Angeles Chargers star Khalil Mack?
The Buffalo Bills are named a potential trade suitor for Los Angeles Chargers star Khalil Mack by NFL analyst Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report.
Los Angeles is 0-4, while Buffalo is 3-1. Mack is better suited to play for a contending team at this stage of his career and Knox thinks the Bills can get the talented defender for a conditional 2027 fourth-round pick.
Mack has not been part of the disappointment in Los Angeles, as he's off to a very strong start to the season. He's already logged 14 tackles, five tackles for loss, three sacks and eight quarterback pressures.
Over four weeks, the Bills are averaging 31.8 points per game. That's first in the NFL.
However, their defense hasn't been good, as Buffalo is giving up 26.8 points per game. That's 25th of 32.
The Bills should call the Chargers and see what it would take to land Mack, who would undoubtedly make Buffalo's defense better.
A nine-time Pro Bowler, Mack has 116.0 sacks in the NFL. He's a future Hall of Famer who would make the Bills championship favorites.
The Bills beat the Houston Texans in Week 1, the Detroit Lions in Week 2 and the Chargers in Week 3 before losing to the New England Patriots in Week 4.
Against the Patriots, Bills superstar QB Josh Allen had 253 passing yards, one passing touchdown and one interception while completing 69.7% of his passes. He ran for one touchdown as well.
For any other QB, this stat line would be solid. However, not for Allen, the 2024 MVP and future Hall of Famer who is universally recognized as the best QB in the NFL.
Allen threw an interception against the Patriots with under two minutes to go while the Bills trailed by three points. The quarterback initially avoided a free rusher by spinning out of the pressure, then heaved the ball into double coverage, which safety Craig Woodson snagged.
Allen has 1,039 passing yards, six passing touchdowns, three interceptions, 118 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns this season. He leads the NFL in rushing touchdowns.
However, Allen hasn't been that productive over his last two games against the Chargers and Patriots. He has three interceptions, two fumbles and just one touchdown pass.
Week 5 is a tremendous game for the Bills, who face the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football. The Rams are 2-2. Myles Garrett won't play in Week 5 and it's unknown if Aaron Donald will suit up either.
If Allen wants to lead the Bills to a championship for the first time in franchise history, he must take better care of the football. The Pro Bowler has fumbled in all four games this season. Luckily for Allen, only one of his four fumbles was recovered by the other team.
The Bills have made the AFC Championship Game twice with Allen leading the way. Buffalo lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs both times.
The Chiefs are 4-0 this season, with Mahomes looking like his old self after suffering a major knee injury in 2025.
It will be fascinating to see how Allen and Co. bounce back in Week 5 against the Rams after losing to the Patriots at home in Week 4.
