Defensive reinforcements flood Buffalo's draft board. See who ESPN's mock draft projects to bolster the Bills' defense with five out of seven selections.
The Buffalo Bills have a lot to figure out when it comes to the 2026 NFL Draft. The team traded away its second-round pick to acquire wide receiver DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears, leaving them with only two picks in the first three rounds.
They also have several holes across the roster to fill.
Luckily, despite not having a pick in the second round, the Bills have seven selections (as of now) in the draft. That means they should still get a nice haul of players that will, hopefully, come in and help the team right away.
But what positions should they really target, and who should they draft?
In his latest for ESPN, Matt Miller goes through all 257 picks in a full seven-round mock draft. For Buffalo, he has the Bills addressing an offensive need in a big way in the first round before focusing primarily on defense.
All in all, Miller has the Bills drafting defensive players with five of their seven selections.
Here are all of the players Miller believes would fit the Bills based on how the draft falls and the team's needs.
Buffalo Bills Seven-Round Mock Draft
First Round, Pick 26 Overall: Omar Cooper Jr. - Wide Receiver - Indiana
At 6 feet, 199 pounds, Cooper was the leading receiver for the national champion Indiana Hoosiers. In 2025, Cooper had 937 yards and 13 touchdowns on 69 catches.
Third Round, Pick 91 Overall: Derrick Moore - Edge - Michigan
Moore is coming off a season in which he finished tied for 15th in the country in sacks with 10. He ended the year with 30 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, three passes defended, and two forced fumbles.
He's good at collapsing the pocket and uses his legs to power through offensive linemen.
Fourth Round, Pick 126 Overall: Devin Moore - Cornerback - Florida
In 2025, Moore had 35 total tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and a sack. He's struggled with injuries for a large chunk of his college career, limiting him to just 18 games in his first three seasons. At 6'3, he has the size to play outside and isn't afraid to use his body to contest passes downfield.
Fifth Round, Pick 165 Overall: Billy Schrauth - Guard - Notre Dame
The second offensive player taken as part of Miller's mock draft, Schrauth is coming off a season where he allowed just two hurries and zero sacks in 213 pass blocking snaps. He can play both left and right guard, and can even play tackle in a pinch.
Fifth Round, Pick 168 Overall: Xavian Sorey Jr. - Linebacker - Arkansas
In 2024, Sorey Jr. had a career-best 99 tackles for Arkansas. That dropped a bit in 2025 to 81 tackles, but he did log a career-high in sacks with three.
Sixth Round, Pick 182 Overall: Nadame Tucker - Edge - Western Michigan
Another edge rusher, Tucker finished tied for the FBS lead in sacks last season with 14.5. To go with those sacks, he forced four fumbles and finished with 55 total tackles.
Seventh Round, Pick 220 Overall: Dalton Johnson - Safety - Arizona
Buffalo did a solid job adding to its safety room for 2026, but they have to look for some depth and possible diamonds for the future. Johnson had a career-high 97 tackles for the Wildcats last year and even pulled down four interceptions.
