The Buffalo Bills have released the first injury report for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season.

With just a few days before the Buffalo Bills kick off the new 2026 NFL season, the team has revealed the first injury report.

Buffalo will be taking on the Houston Texans in Week 1, giving them a strong challenge to open the year. Thankfully for Buffalo, the injury report was fairly clean, offering them good injury luck so far.

There were three players listed on the injury report on Wednesday. Defensive back Jordan Hancock didn't practice due to a quad injury, running back Ty Johnson also didn't practice due to a hamstring issue, and defensive lineman T.J. Sanders was limited in practice with a knee injury.

Hancock, a second-year player from Ohio State, played in 13 games a year ago fro Buffalo. The former fifth-round draft pick recorded 22 total tackles, playing as a strong depth piece for this team.

Johnson, a 2019 draft pick for the Detroit Lions, appeared in 17 games last year for the Bills. The running back rushed for 200 yards with three touchdowns on the ground, and through the air, he caught 24 passes for 263 yards and two scores.
Sanders, a second-year player from South Carolina, played in 12 games for the Bills last year. During this time, he recorded 16 total tackles, one sack, and one pass deflection.

The Bills are hopeful about each player, but the official statuses will be revealed closer to kickoff over the weekend. Buffalo has a big test coming against the Texans, especially against Houston's defense.

Last season, the Texans were one of the best defenses in the NFL, and they should be even better this year. Buffalo will need to be careful to avoid turning the ball over in this contest.

Quarterback Josh Allen will have to be careful when throwing the ball; otherwise, the Texans could have a field day. But the Bills have a pretty electric offensive attack that could cause some issues for Houston.

This will be a matchup of strength vs strength, while also being a potential playoff preview. Both the Texans and Bills are seen as true Super Bowl contenders from the AFC coming into the new season.

Even though this game comes in Week 1, it could have big ramifications down the stretch. Whichever team wins would have the potential head-to-head tiebreaker in terms of playoff seeding at the end of the year.

The Bills and Texans will be in the 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET window of games for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season.
