Buffalo Bills star running back James Cook is being given a strong prediction ahead of the game against the Rams.
The Buffalo Bills will enter Week 5 of the NFL season looking to bounce back following a tough loss last week against the New England Patriots.
Despite everything favoring Buffalo against the Patriots, the Bills just couldn't get the job done at home. But the Bills won't sit around wondering what happened against New England, and the team has now turned its attention toward the Los Angeles Rams.
This game with the Rams could be a potential Super Bowl preview if both teams were to play up to expectations this season. Los Angeles is a big challenge for the Bills, especially with the game being played at SoFi Stadium.
But this Bills team has all the confidence in the world, and they will be looking to get back on track. One way to make that happen is by getting running back James Cook involved in the offense on a consistent basis.
According to ESPN Fantasy projections, Cook is being predicted to get 17 rush attempts against the Rams, going for 80 yards and one touchdown. Through the air, Cook is predicted to catch two passes for 15 yards, helping to open up the air attack.
Cook is one of the catalysts for the Bills offensive attack, and this team is at their best when he has space to work. The hope would be for Buffalo to mix in the running game heavily against the Rams, so that would mean more than 17 carries.
For the season, Cook has rushed for 421 yards and three scores, getting 70 total rushing attempts. Cook has scored a rushing touchdown in three straight games, and he will be trying to make it happen again.
But Cook is also a weapon for the Bills through the air, giving quarterback Josh Allen a legitimate target out of the backfield. Overall, Cook is a problem for most teams to deal with, and if he can keep his strong start to the season going, Buffalo could take down the Rams.
The Bills understand the task at hand, with the Rams being one of the favorites to come out of the NFC this season. This game will give them a chance to make an early-season statement in the AFC, and the NFL as a whole.
With the game being played on Monday Night Football, the Bills will have a chance to do this in primetime. Buffalo has all the tools to win this game, but they'll have to execute the game plan to perfection.
