Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen is having an amazing 2026 season.
Buffalo Bills superstar Josh Allen won the MVP award in 2024.
He could win it again this season.
Allen has 1,793 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns, 270 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns for the 6-1 Bills. He remains first overall in EPA per dropback (0.25) and nudged up his pass EPA to 60.1 (fifth in the NFL) after Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Bills beat the Ravens by a final score of 36-10. Allen had 289 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown.
Week 8 started a little shaky for Allen in the first half. He missed a few passes, including a ball behind tight end Jackson Hawes that was popped up for an INT. Allen completed 42.1% of his first-half passes.
However, you don’t keep Allen down long. The QB hit 13 of his 15 second-half passes while divebombing the Ravens' defense. On throws of 10-plus air yards on Sunday, Allen was 6 of 10 for 157 yards and two touchdowns, including a season-high 43 air yards on a completion to DJ Moore in the third quarter, per Next Gen Stats.
Allen is undoubtedly the best player in the NFL right now. The four-time Pro Bowler is putting up 33.3 points per game. That's first in the league.
Is this the season Allen and the Bills finally reach the promised land? It's possible. After all, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs don't look that good anymore and the Chiefs are pretty much the only team Allen has struggled against in the playoffs.
Next up for Buffalo is a matchup against the 6-1 Minnesota Vikings. That is going to be a really good game, as Minnesota has arguably the top defense in the league. If Allen can torch the Vikings' defense and lead the Bills to a win, he might wrap up the MVP this week.
Allen enters the Bills-Vikings game with 31,895 passing yards, 231 passing touchdowns, 4,991 rushing yards and 88 rushing touchdowns with Buffalo. When it's all said and done, he will dethrone Hall of Famer Jim Kelly as the best QB in Bills franchise history.
NFL.com believes Allen is the frontrunner for the MVP award this season. In the Week 9 NFL MVP tracker, Allen is No. 1 again. He's ahead of San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Burdy, Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow, Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence and Seattle Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
11 players in NFL history have won at least two MVP awards. Let's see if Allen makes it 12.
