The Bills' star quarterback had an interesting day against the Ravens.
Behind another good game from star quarterback Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills were able to take down the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8 of the NFL season.
Once again, Allen led the offensive attack well, putting Buffalo in a strong position to score points. Allen finished the game throwing for 289 yards with two touchdowns and one interception through the air.
On the ground, Allen added 30 yards and a rushing touchdown, giving him three touchdown scores for the day. His performance did enough to help Buffalo get the win over an undermanned Ravens team.
Due to the outing, Allen earned a letter grade of "B" from NFL analyst Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report. This seems like a nice landing spot for Allen's performance, especially since he did have the one turnover in the game, while also making some poor decisions with the ball.
Allen seemed to be a little off target during the game, with the Ravens defense confusing him at times. But the veteran star was still able to throw for almost 300 yards, showing that even in a strange game for him, he can still performance at a very high level.
The Bills are now 6-1 on the season, leading the AFC East and the conference as a whole at this time. Getting the win off the bye week was huge, and the franchise has now won 12 straight games coming off the bye.
Buffalo has relied on Allen to bail them out again this year, and this team should play a major role in how the AFC shakes out come playoff time. But in order for the Bills to make any real noise in the postseason, the defense is going to have to play much better.
Against the Ravens, the defense played well, but Baltimore was playing with its third-string quarterback after injuries hit them. But Buffalo took full advantage of this, and limiting the Ravens to just 10 points was a step in the right direction.
One negative for this team was that the Bills went four-of-14 on third down, which typically won't get the job done against teams. But the Bills can try to work on this moving forward, making sure that they execute down the line.
Next up for the Bills will be a tough game against the Minnesota Vikings, who own the best defense in the NFL. This game will be played on Monday Night Football in Minnesota.
