Just a day after announcing a torn ACL for Gabe Davis, the Buffalo Bills have lost another receiver to the same injury.

The injuries for the Buffalo Bills continue to pile up, especially on the offensive side of the ball. On Tuesday afternoon, head coach Sean McDermott announced that receiver Tyrell Shavers suffered a torn ACL against Jacksonville on Sunday.

Shavers, who came back and finished the game on the injured knee, was the second Bills receiver to suffer a torn ACL against the Jaguars. Gabe Davis left the game with the injury, and was placed on injured reserve (IR) on Tuesday.

The Shavers injury now leaves Buffalo with just three healthy receivers on the 53-man roster. Brandin Cooks, Khalil Shakir, and Keon Coleman all will be relied upon in a major way as the team looks to get back to the Super Bowl for the first time in over 30 years.

As far as what's going to happen at the position, McDermott was pretty blunt when speaking with the media.

"Another guy's got to step up," he said. "That's point blank what it means. I don't mean to be short, it's just, right now, it's full confidence in the guys in that room."

As far as help at the position, the team has Mecole Hardman on the practice squad while also signing Kristian Wilkerson to the practice squad as well. Also returning to practice after being on IR since November is Curtis Samuel.

McDermott said that "for now" the team isn't going to add anyone else to the roster at the position. He also said that it was too early in the week to know if Samuel has a chance to be activated for Sunday's AFC Divisional game against the Denver Broncos.

"I need to get out there today and see a little bit," he said. "It's more of a walk-thru, so it's going to be harder to tell. Just take it one day as we go, and tomorrow we'll try and move around a little bit more to get the guys as fresh as possible on a short week."

The Bills and Broncos are scheduled to kickoff at 4:30pm EST on Sunday. The game will air on CBS with Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson on the call.
