Buffalo Bills pass rusher Bradley Chubb says Buffalo's championship expectations have given him a renewed sense of purpose.

Bradley Chubb has done a lot in his NFL career, but one thing has mostly escaped him: the chance to regularly play meaningful football deep into the postseason.

The veteran edge rusher has played in just one playoff game since joining the league in 2018. But now, entering his first season with the Buffalo Bills, he believes he's found exactly the place that will let him play more meaningful football.

Asked whether the move to Buffalo has re-energized him, Chubb admitted the opportunity to join an organization with legitimate championship aspirations has provided a different level of excitement.

"Oh, for sure, man. I feel like I never lost no energy, to be honest with you," Chubb said. But, you know, when you kind of go season in, season out, not having the results you want, like, you know, in the win column."

Chubb reflected on the lack of team success he's experienced throughout much of his career, noting that postseason opportunities have been few and far between.

"You know, I had probably one 11-win season, one playoff appearance for myself," he said.

That perspective is part of what made Buffalo such an attractive destination.

Rather than joining a team hoping to contend, Chubb is now part of an organization where expectations extend well beyond simply reaching the playoffs.

"You know, it is re-energizing to get to a city and a team and organization who has expectations of not just the first round, not just the second round. You know, being in the long haul in the playoff run, playing far into January," Chubb said.

Those expectations are nothing new for the Bills, who have established themselves as one of the AFC's perennial contenders over the last decade. For Chubb, though, it's a new experience and one he's eager to embrace.

"[I'm] just trying to bring what I bring to the table into this atmosphere and bring the best out of everybody," Chubb said.

The Bills signed Chubb this offseason to add another proven pass rusher to their defensive front, bringing in a player who has recorded 39.5 sacks over his NFL career when healthy.

While Buffalo is counting on his production on the field, Chubb's comments also highlight what drew him to the organization in the first place. After years of chasing success, he's now joining a team where competing for a Super Bowl is the expectation.

As training camp continues, Chubb is embracing that opportunity with what seems like a renewed sense of purpose. And, hopefully, this fresh start in Buffalo leads to the deepest postseason run of his career.
