In an appearance on NFL Network, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Brandin Cooks spoke about "The Catch" and how he felt after the game.

Brandin Cooks doesn't want Josh Allen to feel like he let his team down.

In an appearance on Good Morning Football on NFL Network on Thursday, the Buffalo Bills wide receiver spoke about the team's loss to the Denver Broncos and everything that happened on and off the field.

Cooks said that he felt he had caught the ball and that you see examples throughout the league of similar situations being ruled a catch for the receiver. And while that will certainly be debated for the next few months, it was what Cooks said about his quarterback that stood out the most.

Cooks had nothing but praise for Allen and the job he does leading the Bills.

"What can't he do?" Cooks said. "And I'm not just saying that because he's my current quarterback. He can make any throw, and then when he tucks the ball and becomes a runner, he's a running back. The guy's a freak."

Circling back to the catch that wasn't, Cooks said that it broke him when he heard Allen talk after the game.

"Coming into this locker room, being walked on with open arms in the middle of the season, I felt like I was there all year and I went through everything," Cooks said. "And then you hear your quarterback say, 'I felt like I let the team down', that triggers something for me right away because that guy has so much on his shoulder with this team and he's carried us all year."

He said that he felt he had the opportunity to alleviate some of that pressure on Allen. It was all that was going through his head.

"I felt like I let him down," he said. "That's the feeling I get...it was about the guy that's next to me. And that's the testament of our locker room."

Cooks joined the Bills late in the season after he was released by the New Orleans Saints. Cooks, a 12-year veteran, is set to become a free agent in March when the new league year begins.
