The Buffalo Bills recently hosted former Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna for a visit as they continue searching for depth along the defensive line ahead of the 2026 season.

The Buffalo Bills may not be done adding to their defensive group ahead of the 2026 season.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Buffalo recently hosted veteran defensive end Mike Danna for a visit, giving the team another potential option to add depth and experience to the edge rotation.

Danna spent the last six years with the Kansas City Chiefs after being selected in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. During his time with the Chiefs, the 28-year-old Danna developed into a dependable rotational piece, helping them win two Super Bowls.

In 87 career games (49 starts), Danna has 194 tackles, 21.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, 25 tackles for loss, and 51 quarterback hits. And though he isn't known for being a premier pass rusher, Danna has been a versatile player capable of contributing against both the run and the pass.

That versatility could make him an intriguing fit for a Bills defensive front that still has questions entering training camp.

Buffalo added Landon Jackson and Deone Walker in the draft in recent years, but the team could still use another veteran option on the edge. That's especially true while the situation surrounding Michael Hoecht’s availability following his torn Achilles tendon last season.

Danna’s best season came in 2023 when he appeared in 16 games and recorded career highs with 50 tackles and 6.5 sacks while playing a major role in Kansas City’s Super Bowl-winning defense.

His production dipped last season, finishing with just 25 tackles and one sack in 15 games, which was his lowest sack total since his rookie year.

For Buffalo, a move like this would likely come down to adding inexpensive veteran depth with playoff experience. For a team that is looking to improve on its middling defense in recent years, any added veteran can only be viewed as a low-risk, high-reward addition at this point.
