The Buffalo Bills have checked on the availability of a star defensive tackle.

The Buffalo Bills are among the teams that have checked on the availability of star defensive tackle Vita Vea. Vea requested a trade earlier this offseason, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers do not want to trade him.

Vea is one of the best interior defensive linemen in the league and is coming off another productive season. In 2025, Vea finished with 34 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two pass deflections, and a fumble recovery.

The 31-year-old is an elite run-stuffer and quality pass rusher, entering the final year of his contract, worth $17 million.

If the Buccaneers change their tune and decide to trade Vea, he could be a great piece for the Bills' defensive line alongside Ed Oliver on the interior with edge rushers Bradley Chubb, TJ Parker, and Greg Rousseau.

Oliver was off to a dominant start in the 2025 season, as he had 12 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, three sacks, and a forced fumble through three games. If he stays healthy, he could be one of the best defensive tackles in the league in 2026.

Off the edge, Buffalo added Chubb in free agency on a three-year $43.5 million deal while drafting Parker in the second round.

Chubb played at a high level for the Miami Dolphins in 2025, recording 47 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. He will be an impactful pass rusher off the edge for the Bills.

Buffalo will also hope that Parker can translate his college success to the NFL. Parker had 126 total tackles, 41.5 tackles for loss, 21.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, and six fumble recoveries across three seasons at Clemson.

Rousseau is the other established piece off the edge for the Bills, as he had 46 total tackles, six tackles for loss, seven sacks, and a forced fumble in the 2025 season.

Buffalo is looking to make a Super Bowl push in the 2026 season with Josh Allen as their superstar quarterback. If the Bills acquire Vea for their defense, it will help them in their pursuit of a Lombardi Trophy.
