At the 2025 NFL trade deadline, everyone knew the Buffalo Bills had tried to acquire wide receiver Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins, but what exactly was the offer.

At the 2025 NFL trade deadline, it was no secret that the Buffalo Bills looked at acquiring a number of wide receivers for the team.

The team was reported to have looked at Rashid Shaheed, who was with the New Orleans Saints at the time, and even Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins. When the deadline came and went without a receiver trade, questions arose around general manager Brandon Beane's ability to land a big trade.

Then, when it was reported that they refused to give up a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft for Waddle, those questions turned into frustrations for Bills fans.

Now, months after the end of the season, Buffalo's actual offer for Waddle is out in the open.

Appearing on a recent episode of The Dan Patrick Show, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero revealed exactly what the Bills offered for the 27-year-old receiver.

According to Pelissero, Buffalo offered Miami a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, along with a Day 2 pick in the 2026 draft.

"They ultimately, especially within the division, just decided that wasn't enough," Pelissero said while mentioning that it was the interim regime making the decisions at the time in Miami. "They wanted to get a 2026 first if they were going to move Waddle. So, they didn't trade him."

Instead, Miami waited until the offseason, trading him to the Denver Broncos for the 30th overall pick, a third-round pick, and a fourth-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Despite not acquiring Waddle, the Bills didn't stand still at the wide receiver position. Just before the start of the league year, Buffalo made a deal with the Chicago Bears to acquire DJ Moore and a 2026 fifth-round pick. Going back to Chicago was a 2026 second-round pick.

The Bills are now hoping that Moore can become for them what they've been missing the last two seasons—a true number one receiver on the outside.
