With new head coach Joe Brady filling out his staff, there's at least one group of coaches that will remain with the Buffalo Bills for the upcoming season. And, for some, it might come as a bit of a surprise.
The 2025 season was filled with injuries across the board. It seemed that every week, a different player suffered some sort of injury in practice. Because of that, many fans grew frustrated with the team's performance staff.
With Brady taking over for Sean McDermott this year, it seemed like it was time to make a change in the department. But, based on comments from General Manager/President of Football Operations Brandon Beane, that doesn't look to be the case.
According to Matt Parrino of Syracuse.com, Beane indicated that the group that includes Strength and Conditioning Coach Will Greenberg, Director of Performance and Innovation Joe Collins, and Head Athletic Trainer Nate Breske will return for 2026.
"We definitely had more soft tissue things that I would say were self-inflicted," Beane said of the injury issues from last season.
Despite the three men returning this season, one has to wonder how short of a leash they'll be on. Each week, it felt like another preventable injury would happen. By the end of the season, it felt like the list of injuries was longer than the number of healthy players.
While some injuries you simply can't prevent, there are those, such as soft tissue injuries, that can be avoided with proper conditioning. Hopefully, for the Bills, the recommitment to, as the Bills say, "alignment" will lead to fewer missed games for key players next season.
