Silver-gray threads meet a bold blue helmet in this long-awaited "Nickel City" reveal, featuring a minimalist logo design and glossy accents built for Buffalo’s upcoming campaign.
The Buffalo Bills have a new uniform for its collection.
After months of rumor and speculation, the team officially unveiled its new "Nickel City" uniforms to the world. And, as you'd expect, the leaks were almost spot on.
The jersey is a silver-gray color dubbed "Nickel City". It features blue numbers with white and red borders on the front, back, and shoulders. On the sleeves are two darker gray stripes. On the basic retail version of the jersey, they are more matte and flatter. On the actual jersey, however, there's a shine to them to give them a glossy look. The same is true of the numbers.
Finally, the jersey features the Bills logo on the upper left portion of the chest and a blue collar with the phrase "Go Bills" on the inside.
Moving on to the pants, they are also the silver color featured as the base of the jersey and the same striping that's on the sleeves of the jersey.
Lastly, the helmet might be the most divisive part of this look. For the first time, Buffalo will sport a blue base on the shell. That's paired with a blue facemask. The logo breaks the mold by featuring neither the charging nor the standing bison on the helmet. This time, all that's featured is the red charging stripe that comes out of the horn on Buffalo's primary crest.
A previous leak from a mini helmet showed a wide and predominant stripe that meets in the back. While many were hoping the actual helmet featured a slightly thinner stripe, that's not the case, as the bulky stripe was accurate
"Since this is essentially an alternate 'color rush' designation, we must use a secondary base color that already exists in our color palette. Gray was the one brand color we've never leaned into, so this was a fun challenge," Buffalo's director of design Aaron La Porta said.
The new uniforms can be worn both at home and on the road, though the team hasn't announced which weeks they'll be worn. If you can't wait to see them up close and personal, they are already for sale via the Bills team store.
