The Buffalo Bills have announced their inactives for Week 4 against the New England Patriots.
Unsurprisingly, with the elevations of cornerback Kani Walker and defensive back Te'Cory Couch, number one corner Christian Benford is inactive for the key AFC East matchup. Benford left last week's game against Los Angeles early with a toe injury and didn't practice all week leading up to this game. Although he was officially listed as questionable, his status seemed to lean more towards not playing.
With him out, the Bills will have to rely on Maxwell Hairston and rookie Davison Igbinosun to contain the outside against the Patriots. Luckily for them, they won't have to deal with New England's top receiver, A.J. Brown, who remains on injured reserve. That doesn't mean it'll be easy, though. New England has Romeo Doubs, Mack Hollins, and DeMario Davis, all of whom have the ability to make plays on the outside.
There's also Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson in the backfield that have been known to cause problems for the Bills defense.
Elsewhere for Buffalo, T.J. Sanders, who was doubtful, is inactive has he continues to recover from an appendectomy. For players without injury designations, rookies safety Jalon Kilgore and wide receiver Skyler Bell are out. Linebacker Mike Danna, and rookie offensive linemen Ar'Maj Reed-Adams and Jude Bowry are also out.
For Bell, he continues to wait for his opportunity to see regular season playing time. But as D.J. Moore and Keon Coleman continue to play despite injuries, he'll continue to be inactive.
Running back Ray Davis, who was also listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, is dressed. Through three weeks, the third-year running back has just one carry for three yards. Earlier this week, head coach Joe Brady said that he needed to find a way to get Davis more involved in the offense. Whether that happens this week will be determined by how healthy he truly is.
The Bills and Patriots kickoff at 1pm ET on CBS Sports. Bills Roundtable will have full coverage during and after the game.
