Buffalo receives a significant offensive boost as two star playmakers clear injury hurdles to face the Chargers, offset by six defensive and depth chart absences.
As the Buffalo Bills get ready for their Week 3 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers, they'll be doing it with their key contributors
In addition to the two players already confirmed out on Friday, the team announced the rest of their inactives for Sunday afternoon.
In total, six players were made inactive.
The two players known to be out ahead of time were defensive back Jordan Hancock (hamstring/IR) and defensive lineman TJ Sanders (appendectomy). Other players also inactive include receiver Skyler Bell, defensive end Mike Danna, safety Jalon Kilgore, and offensive linemen Ar'maj Reed-Adams and Jude Bowry.
The big surprises include both receivers DJ Moore (shoulder) and Keon Coleman (ankle) being active. How much they play will be determined come game time, but it's a good sign to see two of Buffalo's three best receivers on the field.
With them playing, along with Greg Dortch, who was signed to the active roster this week, Bell will have to wait a bit longer for his first chance to play in a regular-season game. Still, when that time comes, Bell has said he'll be ready for the opportunity.

The Chargers' inactives include S Elijah Molden, QB DJ Uiagalelei, OL Alex Harkey, G Kayode Awosika, TE Charlie Kolar, WR Brenen Thompson, and DT Dalvin Tomlinson. Uiagalelei has been designated as the emergency third QB. Guard Trey Pipkins III was also placed on injured reserve on Friday
Buffalo heads into Sunday's game against Los Angeles as heavy favorites. They are 2-0 and have averaged 38.5 points per game across the first two weeks. The Chargers, on the other hand, are 0-2 and have averaged just 14 points per game, losing to both the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders.
They head to Buffalo with their backs against the wall, making them a desperate team. And, as everyone knows with the NFL, just because a team looks worse on paper, it doesn't mean the game will be easy. Just look at what happened last week between the Bills and Dolphins.
If the Bills are going to walk out of Highmark Stadium 3-0 on Sunday, they can't take the Chargers lightly. They have to have an improved defensive performance while the offense continues to play at the same level it started at this season.
Bills and Chargers kickoff at 1pm ET on FOX Sports.
