Buffalo faces a high-stakes roster shuffle as DJ Moore and Dalton Kincaid race to play, while a fresh injury to Greg Gaines adds last-minute defensive drama.
Six players are officially questionable for the Buffalo Bills for their matchup on Sunday afternoon against the Baltimore Ravens.
As of now, no one on the 53-man roster has been officially ruled out.
Following the team's final practice of the week on Friday, head coach Joe Brady gave an update on the players who had been dealing with injuries all week. There was even a new addition to the list that no one was expecting.
Brady confirmed that wide receiver DJ Moore, tight end Dalton Kincaid, nickel corner Dee Alford, right tackle Spencer Brown, linebacker TJ Parker, and defensive tackle Greg Gaines are all questionable for the AFC showdown.
Moore and Kincaid have been in red non-contact jerseys all week as Buffalo's two biggest pass-catching weapons work to get on the field.
Players who had been on the injury report but carry no injury designation heading into the weekend include linebackers Bradley Chubb and Joe Andreessen, along with defensive linemen Ed Oliver and T.J. Sanders. For Oliver, it's his first game since Week 4 against New England. In three games, he has nine tackles, four QB hits, a tackle for loss, and half a sack.
Tyrell Shavers will remain off the 53-man as they utilize his 21-day practice window before making a roster decision.
As far as Gaines being added to the list, Brady said he tweaked something in his lower body during practice on Friday. Gaines as 11 tackles, one tackle for loss, and a fumble recovery through six games.
Overall, the team seems hopeful that most, if not all, of the questionable players will play. The big tell will be who, if anyone, gets elevated from the practice squad this weekend to the roster. The Bills can elevate two players each week and have usually done so to fill in for a position that will be short due to injury. That decision is expected to come late Saturday or early Sunday.
Elsewhere, it was confirmed that Damar Hamlin will start at safety on Sunday in place of the suspended C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Gardner-Johnson is serving a one game suspension for spitting on Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers two weeks ago. He attempted to appeal the decision, but it was upheld.
The Bills and Ravens are set to kick off on Sunday at 1pm ET. The game will air on CBS Sports with Ian Eagle and Ross Tucker calling the action.
