One rushing score away from eclipsing Hall of Fame legends Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas, Buffalo’s dual-threat quarterback poised to claim the franchise’s all-time touchdown crown.

Josh Allen is one touchdown away from adding another major piece of Buffalo Bills history to his résumé.

After scoring twice in Sunday's 24-16 comeback win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Allen now has 87 career touchdowns (non-passing) with the Bills, tying franchise legends Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas for the most in team history.

Allen has reached the mark in a very different way than the two Hall of Famers.

Of his 87 touchdowns, 85 have come on the ground and two have come as a receiver. Reed scored 86 receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown during his Bills career, while Thomas finished with 65 rushing touchdowns and 22 receiving scores.

Now Allen has a chance to stand alone.

His next trip to the end zone will give him 88 career touchdowns as a Bill, moving him past both Reed and Thomas for the most in franchise history.

And he won't have to wait long for his next opportunity.

The Bills host the New England Patriots on Sunday at Highmark Stadium, with Allen entering the game already having scored six rushing touchdowns through the first three games of the season. He has scored twice on the ground in each of Buffalo's first three games, becoming just the fourth player in NFL history to accomplish that feat to open a season.

Allen's latest two touchdowns also pushed him to 85 career rushing scores, tying former Bills running back Marshawn Lynch for 17th on the NFL's all-time list. His next rushing touchdown would move him past Lynch and tie Priest Holmes for 16th.

But the franchise record is the bigger milestone waiting for Allen on Sunday.

Reed and Thomas have shared the Bills' career touchdown record since Reed finished his Buffalo career with his 87th touchdown in 1999. More than a quarter-century later, Allen is on the verge of taking the record for himself.

It's another remarkable addition to what has already become an extensive list of franchise records for Allen. And considering the way he's started the 2026 season, it wouldn't be surprising if the Bills' record book needs another update on Sunday.
