Josh Allen enters the 2026 season within striking distance of several Buffalo Bills franchise records and NFL milestones.

When the 2026 season kicks off, Josh Allen won't just be chasing another AFC East title or the first Super Bowl in Buffalo Bills history. He'll also be closing in on several milestones that could further cement his place as the greatest player the franchise has ever seen.

Some of those records have felt inevitable for years. Others are a reminder that Allen's impact on the Bills has gone far beyond what he's done with his right arm.

The biggest milestone on the horizon is Buffalo's all-time passing record. Allen enters the season needing 5,366 passing yards to pass Jim Kelly for the most in franchise history. Considering Allen has topped 4,000 passing yards in four of the last six seasons, there's a chance the record falls sometime during the 2026 season if he goes on a heater. Still, even if it doesn't happen this year, it's no longer a question of if, but when.

But that's not the only record Allen is chasing, and he's actually much closer to a different franchise record.

He needs just 18 touchdown passes to become the Bills' all-time leader in passing touchdowns, another mark currently held by Kelly. Barring injury, that record should fall well before the midway point of the season.

As impressive as Allen's passing accomplishments have been, his rushing ability is what has made him one of the NFL's most unique quarterbacks.

He enters the season needing 279 rushing yards to become the fifth quarterback in NFL history to surpass 5,000 career rushing yards while also establishing himself as one of the league's premier passers. Reaching that mark would be another reminder that Allen continues to redefine what the position can look like.

There are even more rushing milestones within reach.

Allen needs 925 rushing yards to move into third place on the Bills' all-time rushing list, an incredible feat for a quarterback. He also needs 11 rushing touchdowns to move into the top 15 in NFL history, regardless of position. While the rushing yards are unlikely this year, Allen has run for 12 or more touchdowns in each of the last three seasons. That puts that milestone in reach for 2026.

But just think about that for a moment.

Allen isn't just climbing quarterback leaderboards. He's climbing rushing leaderboards traditionally occupied by running backs, all while continuing to rank among the league's elite passers. That combination is what makes him special.

The individual milestones will come, and Bills fans will celebrate every one of them. But Allen would probably trade every record for one accomplishment that still eludes both him and the franchise: A Super Bowl championship.

If that finally happens, the records will simply become another chapter in what would already be the greatest career in Bills history.
