After a disappointing season, Keon Coleman is transforming his mindset. Josh Allen praises the receiver’s renewed work ethic and physical intensity as Buffalo’s offense prepares for a turnaround.
Keon Coleman is heading into a pivotal season for his career as an NFL wide receiver, and his quarterback, Josh Allen, is liking what he’s been seeing from the 22-year-old. Speaking earlier this week during the team’s OTAs, the Buffalo Bills quarterback was asked about Coleman and what he hopes to see from the third-year player.
Allen says that they don’t need Coleman to be a different type of player. What they need is for him to be the best version of himself.
“I think he continues to get better,” Allen said of Coleman. “You know, he comes out each and every day. He's been putting his hard hat on. He's going to work and, you know, constant improvement is what I would say about him. You know, he's working extremely hard, and people notice that. I notice that.”
Coleman is coming off a 2025 season that he, himself, classified as “ass” after being a healthy scratch and putting up fewer yards than his rookie year. Coleman was blunt in calling this year a make-or-break season for him with the Bills.
Allen says that working with new wide receivers coach Drew Terrell has resulted in Coleman learning how to be a more rounded receiver. He says that he’s seeing receivers “flying off the ball” and that Coleman’s effort was noticed even before they all got on the field this week in Orchard Park.

“I've already seen a shift in his mindset this year and how hard he's been coming out to practice and working out, so it's obviously very promising,” Allen said.
It’s not just Allen who’s noticed the difference in Coleman. Head coach Joe Brady, who’s been adamant since his first day about his desire to have Coleman be a big part of the team’s future, says that he spoke to him multiple times in the offseason about what he’s working on to improve. And now that they are back in person, he’s been happy to see how things have been progressing.
“I love the work ethic; love how he’s been doing it right now,” Brady said. “He’s done everything we’ve asked of him so far.”
Based on the words of Allen and Brady, Coleman is making progress to being the "pro" he wants to be is something to be hopeful about for Bills fans. But the real test will come when the grind of the regular season begins this fall.
