Could Josh Allen win his second MVP award this season?
As the Buffalo Bills prepare for the upcoming week of the season, the team has to be feeling good about where they stand.
Not only are the Bills sitting with a record of 6-1 on the season, but they are seen as one of the favorites to reach the Super Bowl. Much of this has been behind a special season so far from star quarterback Josh Allen.
Heading into Week 9, there aren't many players in the league who have performed better than Allen this year. This has started the conversation about the Bills star potentially being in line to get his second MVP award this season.
Allen has put the Bills on his shoulders once again, leading them to be the top team in the AFC so far this season. Buffalo has seen an explosive offensive attack take place, giving them thoughts of a possible Super Bowl run behind Allen.
For the season, Allen has thrown for 1,793 yards with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions through the air. But on the ground, Allen has dominated, rushing for 270 yards and nine touchdowns so far this year.
His play has sparked all sorts of discussion, including from former NFL quarterback Tom Brady. Brady believes that Allen is one of a handful of players who should be considered the early favorites to win the MVP this season.
If Allen were to keep playing at this level, he would have one of the stronger inside tracks to win the award. But the signal-caller doesn't care about individual awards, with him focused on getting this Bulls team over the hump this season.
Allen wants to win a Super Bowl this season, and so far, the Bills seem to be on track to do just that. Buffalo is one of the few teams across the NFL who will only be judged on what they do come playoff time, and Allen understands this.
The Bills have a very good team, even with the defense struggling a little bit this season. As long as the team has Allen playing well, the Bills can beat anyone in the league.
But the defense will need to step up as the year moves forward, taking some of the burden off Allen and the offense. Allen can't do everything himself, and this team as a whole is going to have to help him bring home the Super Bowl title this season.
