Von Miller reignites Buffalo homecoming hopes after a dominant nine-sack season, expressing a strong desire to rejoin the Bills for the 2026 NFL Season.
When the Buffalo Bills signed Von Miller to a six-year, $120 million contract in 2022, the hope was that he would end his career with the Bills and help the team win its first Super Bowl.
His first season started strong, with eight sacks and 10 tackles for loss in 11 games. Unfortunately, a torn ACL ended the year early for him, and things never fully recovered.
He played 11 games in 2023, but had just two tackles and zero sacks as he worked back from injury. Then, in 2024, he showed improvement with six sacks and seven tackles for loss, but it wasn't the production needed for a player under that type of contract.
So, after three seasons, Miller was released.
For 2025, the then-36-year-old Miller looked to show he still had something left in the tank, signing a one-year, $6.1 million deal with the Washington Commanders.
Bills Roster Moves: Brandan Beane scouting potential cuts
For the first time since 2018, Miller played in every game. He had just 16 total tackles, the third-lowest total for his career, but he proved he could still get after the quarterback (QB). Playing just 36.9% of the defensive snaps, Miller had nine sacks, six tackles for loss, and 15 QB hits.
Those nine sacks were the most he's had in a season since racking up 14.5 in 2018, and the 15 QB hits were his highest since 20 in 2019.
Now, after a successful year, Miller is a free agent and looking to keep his career going. And one team he'd like to do that with is Buffalo.
Appearing on a livestream recently, Miller was asked for his predictions for next season. Immediately, he spoke about wanting to return.
"Man, I would love to go back to the Buffalo Bills," Miller said before diving into why the Bills will win the Super Bowl next season.
"Josh Allen is going to get them one. Josh Allen is going to win a Super Bowl... We already beat, the Buffalo Bills, already beat the Kansas City Chiefs before. Not in the playoffs, yet. It’s going to happen.
Miller then spoke about James Cook being one of the best running backs in the league before once again circling back to Allen.
"Josh Allen is going to win a Super Bowl," he said.
With the Bills still needing to sure up the pass rush for 2026, Miller on a low-cost deal could help with a rotation that includes Greg Rousseau, Bradley Chubb, and the newly drafted TJ Parker. It's just up to Beane and the coaching staff to decide if they think a reunion makes sense.
