The Denver Broncos fell short of a Super Bowl trip, largely because quarterback Bo Nix suffered a season-ending injury in the divisional round win against the Buffalo Bills.
Now, Davis Webb is the Broncos new offensive coordinator after Joe Lombardi was fired, and Nix's third year in the NFL could be a big one for the former Auburn and Oregon quarterback.
With the season over, Nick Shook of NFL.com ranked every quarterback in the league. Nix, despite leading the Broncos to a No. 1 seed in the AFC and an AFC title game trip, landed on Tier 3.
Shook ranked Nix No. 18 overall, and in 2024, he finished the season ranked at No. 20.
The biggest reason for Nix being that low was that the Broncos' QB was inconsistent until the end of the season.
"Bo Nix didn't find a true sense of consistency until after Thanksgiving, diluting his overall 2025 résumé. Still, if what we saw from Nix down the stretch is a preview of his future, Broncos fans have plenty of reason to be excited," Shook wrote.
Nix finished the regular season with 3,931 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, but he had a 58.3 QB rating.
He also had seven games this season with fewer than 200 yards passing. On the other hand, the Denver defense did a lot of the hard work for this team, and even with the offense struggling at times, the Broncos found ways to win games.
Jarrett Stidham, the Broncos' backup, was at No. 54 on the list, but he played very sparingly. He made a brief appearance at the end of the game against the Dallas Cowboys, and he went 17-of-31 for 133 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the AFC title game loss to the New England Patriots.
Going into the offseason, the Broncos have some questions to answer, just like every team in the NFL.
One question is whether or not they can bring in a true "home-run hitter" on the offense to help Nix.
Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin are solid options, but getting a bona fide WR1 in Denver could elevate this offense more, not to mention landing another running back after injuries to Jk Dobbins.
Nonetheless, Nix's NFL career has started off well, and he figures to take another leap in the 2026 season as the Broncos try and defend the AFC West crown.
