The Denver Broncos' first preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons is right around the corner, but the team may be without some key names who are battling injuries.

As the Denver Broncos prepare to face the Atlanta Falcons for their first preseason game of 2026, Mike, Randy and Eric discuss all the happenings in Denver.

First on the list, head coach Sean Payton was in attendance at his former quarterback Drew Brees' Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony, where the ex-New Orleans Saints QB had incredibly high praise.

"You were brilliant; I always wanted to make you right," Brees said emotionally. "I know you trusted me, and that allowed us both to be great."

The duo spent 15 years together in New Orleans and took home a Super Bowl title during that span, with both the player and coach sustaining success -- a dominant decade and a half in the NFL for Brees and Payton.

Mike notes that he's hopeful Broncos QB Bo Nix and Payton can emulate the success HC had with the Saints, which is no easy feat.

On some nit-so-great updates, the trio discusses the multiple injuries that have taken a toll on Denver in training camp. Specifically, running back J.K. Dobbins has made headlines for leaving practice with a soft tissue injury. Dobbins did make a return to the field, but as Randy notes, it's not great that he's already had an injury scare before the first preseason game.

Randy continues, mentioning that Dobbins' health could lead to the Broncos' fourth-round pick in this year's draft, RB Jonah Coleman, getting more reps and earning a spot on the 53-man roster.

The rookie has been dubbed a standout in camp so far and is giving RB RJ Harvey a run for his money. Harvey, entering his second year in the league, was thought to be a runaway candidate for RB2, but the battle has reportedly intensified between him and Coleman.

Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, acquired by the Broncos in the offseason, was also unfortunately sidelined after a muscle strain in his leg, but isn't expected to be out for more than a week.

WR Marvin Mims Jr. also got hit with the injury bug, exiting Friday's practice early but seen on the side of the field this week in pads. As Mike mentions, he was amidst the best training camp of his career thus far and seemingly solidifying his spot as WR3.

In the wake of all the injuries that Denver was dealing with, the team signed a few players to fill their spots, but Mike doesn't believe any of them will make the 53-man roster.
