Broncos' Projected To Land Oregon Star In Mock Draft Surprise cover image

Denver nabs Oregon's explosive tight end Kenyon Sadiq at No. 30, reuniting him with Bo Nix in a shocking draft day move.

The Denver Broncos finished as the No. 1 seed in the AFC, but unfortunately lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC title game, with Bo Nix missing the game due to injury.

The good news is Denver is trending up, but since the Broncos did so well, they have the 30th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft

There are several areas the Broncos need to address, and of course, what the team does in free agency will likely change all of the mock drafts that are coming out now.

Adding some defense makes sense, and that has been a common theme for recent mocks.

However, Henry McKenna of Fox Sports had a new mock, and he surprisingly had Denver selecting Oregon Ducks star tight end Kenyon Sadiq at No. 30.

"Sadiq may be just 6-foot-3, but he can be a special pass-catcher, particularly after the catch. You’d have to really squint to see five-time Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham, but Sadiq could be a nice match for quarterback Bo Nix and this offense," McKenna wrote.

One mock draft in December had Sadiq going to the Kansas City Chiefs as a replacement for Travis Kelce, and Sadiq is usually mocked way earlier than No. 30, so it would be a surprise to see him fall to Denver.

In this scenario, Sadiq would reunite with Bo Nix, the former Oregon quarterback, although Sadiq had just five catches in 2023, which was Nix's final season in Eugene.

At the NFL Combine, Sadiq made a name for himself, so his falling this far seems even more unlikely, although the Broncos would likely waste no time making the pick if he is still there by then.

In 2025, Sadiq caught 51 passes for 560 yards with eight touchdowns, and he showcased plenty of athleticism during the Combine.

Sadiq is far and away regarded as the best tight end in this draft class, and Nix throwing passes to him with guys such as Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin in the wide receiver room would round out a talented offense.

Plus, not to mention Davis Webb is calling plays now after Sean Payton handed play-calling duties to his new OC. Joe Lombardi was fired, Webb is in, and adding a talent such as Sadiq would be a huge boost for the offense.

But, again, does he fall that far? After an impressive run at the NFL Combine, probably not, but you just never know.
