The Denver Broncos target key defensive needs and offensive line depth in a seven-round mock draft following a blockbuster trade.

Any mock draft involving the Denver Broncos from mid-March or earlier can be tossed out the window.

The Broncos acquired wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in a blockbuster trade with the Miami Dolphins, and, in turn, the Dolphins sent away their first-round pick and a third-round pick as well.

Trading away a late first-round pick and a late third-rounder for a Pro Bowl talent such as Waddle is a smart move for the foreseeable future for the Broncos, so they will live with not having a draft pick on Day 1.

ESPN's Matt Miller compiled a seven-round mock draft with Day 1 approaching soon, and here's a rundown of every player Miller projected to go to Denver.

Round 2, No. 62 overall: Missouri linebacker Josiah Trotter

Field Yates also had the Broncos selecting Trotter with this pick, so this is a very realistic possibility.

"Denver's defense is elite, but there's room for a downhill thumper. Trotter has NFL bloodlines and the speed to make a huge impact in the run game, where he's a missile with quick read-and-react skills," Miller wrote about the Mizzou star.

Round 4, No. 108 overall: Texas A&M defensive tackle Albert Regis

The Broncos need to fill the void left by John Franklin-Myers, and adding a potential starter in Round 4 would be a nice pickup for Sean Payton.

Round 4, No. 111 overall: North Carolina State tight end Justin Joly

There is a path that sees the Broncos select a tight end in Round 2, but Vanderbilt star Eli Stowers is likely not going to be there when Denver is on the clock at No. 62.

So, the Broncos wait until Round 4, since they don't have a third-rounder, and select Joly.

Round 5, No. 170 overall: Penn State offensive tackle Drew Shelton

Getting some insurance for the offensive line is always a good idea, and Shelton played well while protecting Drew Allar with the Nittany Lions.

Round 7, No. 246 overall: LSU edge rusher Jack Pyburn

There are plenty of edge rushers in this draft, and Pyburn is a guy who could be a tremendous value in the seventh round.

Round 7, No. 256 overall: North Carolina cornerback Thaddeus Dixon

Dixon played last season at North Carolina under Bill Belichick, and now he goes to play with Sean Payton in a weird twist of two legendary coaches.

Round 7, No. 257 overall (Mr. Immaculate): UCF edge rusher Nyjalik Kelly

The final pick in the draft belongs to the Broncos, and Miller has them kicking the tires on an edge rusher.
