The Denver Broncos got a much-needed win against the Jacksonville Jaguars after falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1.
Mike, Eric and Randy open up this week's show discussing the bounce-back win for Denver, which left fans feeling encouraged about the Broncos once again. Roundtable's trio starts this episode with some stats that will encourage Denver fans after their 20-13 win against the Jaguars.
First, the trio talk about wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who was effectively a no-show against Kansas City in the team's 31-10 loss. The offseason acquisition exploded for 138 yards on 10 targets, but still has yet to find the end zone.
Quarterback Bo Nix is now 25-11 as a starter following Sunday evening's win against Jacksonville.
What Went Right
Eric notes that Denver responded appropriately when things weren't going their way. Down 10-3 entering the second half, the Broncos made the correct adjustments at halftime to only allow the Jaguars three more points in two quarters of football en route to Denver's come-from-behind win.
Eric continues, giving props to linebacker Alex Singleton, who logged nine tackles Sunday to move his total to 25 on the year, the most through two games in Broncos history.
Mike mentions the newfound faith in offensive coordinator Davis Webb, who struggled in his debut against the Chiefs but found his footing against the Jags.
What Needs Improvement
Although Singleton had a great game, Randy discusses the frustrating, unnecessary roughness call that the linebacker received for the second straight game. Randy mentions how the 32-year-old definitely needs to clean up his actions, but in the bigger picture, the entire team needs to be better at getting called for penalties.
Mike hopes to see Denver avoid these comeback wins, which the team had 13 of last season. Essentially, wanting the Broncos to keep their foot on the gas from the first kickoff until time expires. He also mentions the team's lack of scoring in the red zone, as the Broncos went 0/3 on touchdowns within the opponent's ten-yard line -- having to settle for field goals.
Week 3 vs. Los Angeles Rams
Stepping away from the good and bad of Week 2, the trio discusses the running back problem facing the Broncos. Both RBs RJ Harvey and J.K. Dobbins are injured, leaving Denver with rookie Jonah Coleman in the backfield for the foreseeable future.
