Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson did not play well against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine gave Cleveland Browns veteran Deshaun Watson a C- QB grade for his performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Watson went 27/39 through the air for 324 passing yards. He had zero touchdown passes and zero interceptions. The former Clemson star was sacked eight times and had one fumble.
The Browns lost to the Steelers by a final score of 27-6. Cleveland put up 319 yards on offense and didn't score a touchdown.
Cleveland dropped to 5-3 after losing to Pittsburgh. The Steelers are now in first place in the AFC North.
On the season, Watson has 1,806 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns, three interceptions, 217 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. He's completing 65.5% of his passes.
Next up for the Browns is a matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are 2-5.
Watson enters the Browns-Saints game with 19,710 passing yards, 130 passing touchdowns, 51 interceptions, 2,359 rushing yards and 21 rushing touchdowns in the NFL with the Texans and Browns. His starting record is 42-38-0.
Watson is 14-13 with the Browns. He has 5,171 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, 15 interceptions, 682 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
When Browns head coach Todd Monken named Watson his starting QB, many pundits expected Watson to get benched for Shedeur Sanders. While that can still happen, for now, it appears Watson hasn't done anything to lose his job.
Sanders finished his rookie season with 1,400 passing yards, seven passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 169 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. He went 3-4 as a starter.
The Browns like how much Sanders has developed under Monken, and with no definitive long-term answer at QB, they are not motivated to move him or anyone else in the room right now.
Sanders now has formal representation after entering the NFL without an agent. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Sanders will be represented by Adie von Gontard of Young Money APAA Sports. The agency also represents his former college teammate, Travis Hunter.
Before the Browns lost to the Steelers, Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com posted a video on Friday calling for Cleveland to trade for Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack before the Nov. 10 trade deadline.
The Chargers are 0-7. Mack, 35, is better suited to play for a playoff team at this stage of his career. The nine-time Pro Bowler has three sacks, 11 solo tackles, five tackles for loss and six QB hits this season.
