The Cleveland Browns have one area of the team that should give them hope entering the NFL season.
The Cleveland Browns are one of the more fascinating teams in the NFL heading into the new season.
Cleveland not only has a new head coach in Todd Monken, but the team recently announced that veteran quarterback Deshaun Watson would be the starter. The move has been met with all sorts of criticism, but the organization has stood firmly behind its starting quarterback.
Nonetheless, Cleveland does have some talented guys on the roster and this could make them a fun team to watch this season. The organization has done well drafting in recent years, and there are a few rookies who have been making names for themselves this year in camp.
NFL analyst Moe Moton of Bleacher Report listed why each NFL team should have hope heading into the season. For the Browns, Moton focused on the impressive rookie wide receivers that the team has.
"With complementary skill sets, wideouts Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion will make the Browns' aerial attack worth watching as they develop during their rookie campaign," Moton wrote.
Given that the Browns may not win a ton of games this year, if the team were to see real promise from its wide receivers, it would be a success. Cleveland is building for the future, and both Boston and Concepcion are expected to be part of that plan.
Concepcion was a dual-threat during his college days, and the Browns may use him in that manner. The rookie recently opened up about his willingness to do whatever it takes to win games.
"Any way that I can change the game I would love to do it," Concepcion said. "I told the coaching staff whenever they picked me, this is something that I want to continue. I feel like I could change the game in many ways. As long as they allow me to go back there, I'll be back there."
With Texas A&M last season, Concepcion caught 61 passes for 919 yards and nine touchdowns. This led the Browns to take him in the first round with the No. 24 pick.
As for Boston, he was a second-round pick for the Browns out of Washington. With the Huskies, Boston caught 62 passes for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Both guys could give this team future starters, and their performance this year could go a long way. But for now, taking things one day at a time will be crucial as they learn the way of the NFL.
