The Cleveland Browns and quarterback Deshaun Watson are reportedly building toward momentum together in the short term.

Following a surprising 2-1 start to the new NFL season, the Cleveland Browns may not be switching their quarterback situation anytime soon.

Cleveland has allowed veteran Deshaun Watson to figure things out over the past two weeks after a poor performance in Week 1. Watson has made plays when needed, showing a few glimpses of the player that the Browns believed that they were getting years ago.

But due to his increased play, mixed with the team winning games, it seems that Watson may be here to stay, at least in the short term. According to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi, the team and Watson are building toward momentum in the short term.

This doesn't mean that the 31-year-old will be the starter for years to come, but the team will give Watson the chance to prove himself. However, there are members of the organization who believe that Watson hasn't done enough to show he can be the long-term starter, even amid the winning for the Browns.

There seems to be a lot going on with the Browns right now, but the team has won two straight games for the first time with Watson under center. Cleveland has a lot of excitement around it right now, with Watson being in the middle of it all.

So far this season, Watson has thrown for 587 yards with five touchdowns and one interception, while completing 68.3 percent of his passes. The veteran signal-caller has also rushed for 105 yards over the first three games of the season.

Watson has been able to turn negative plays into positives, which is something that the Browns have been impressed with over the last few games. The veteran has looked more like his old self, and it has given Cleveland a chance to win.

Cleveland will be putting its winning streak on the line later today against the rival Pittsburgh Steelers on primetime. The Browns have gone 6-1 against the Steelers at home since the 2019 season, giving the team some extra confidence heading into the game.

But if the Browns could take down Pittsburgh, a 3-1 start to the season could give them thoughts of potentially going on a playoff run. Cleveland entered the season with little expectation, at least outside the organization, so the strong start has been a little surprising.

However, this group has a lot of confidence, and that is all that matters as the year goes on. Watson will have another chance to show what he can do against the Steelers, and all eyes will be on him during the game.
