Should Cleveland Browns Trade Shedeur Sanders?

Shedeur Sanders has been one of the bigger talking points around the Cleveland Browns of late.

The Cleveland Browns are off to an excellent start to the season, going 3-2 through the first five games of the year.

Cleveland has rallied around starting quarterback Deshaun Watson, with the veteran playing well enough to win games. Coming into the season, there were questions about how he would play, especially coming off an injury.

But Watson has given the Browns all he can so far, quieting any doubts around him being named the starter. Cleveland has been able to play well on both sides of the ball, giving this team the thought of a possible playoff run.

However, with all the success around Watson, there have been the questions about backup quarterback Shedeur Sanders and when he will get his chance to play. For now, Sanders is stuck being the backup for Watson, but there has been some talk about a possible trade.

The latest reports have said that Cleveland has no plans to move Sanders, keeping him on the roster. But the Browns may want to consider moving the former Colorado star, especially if he isn't seen as a long-term option for the team.

Sanders recently changed his representation, going from being his own representative to hiring Adie von Gontard, CEO of Young Money APAA Sports. This made waves around the NFL, adding to the trade speculation for the Browns quarterback.

Cleveland could likely get something of value for Sanders, who showed some signs of success last year starting for the team. With the Browns last year, Sanders threw for 1,400 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Despite the turnovers, the Browns did look much better with him under center last season, giving thought to him starting this year. But with Watson seemingly as the starter for a while, Cleveland should elect to trade him.

The Browns are better off getting something in return for Sanders, giving him an opportunity to be a starter elsewhere. Cleveland also has two other quarterbacks on the roster, and this could open up a spot for someone else.

Even if the Browns aren't likely to trade Sanders this year, he could be a candidate ovr the offseason. Watson may not be the long-term answer at the position for the Browns, and some decision has to be made on Sanders.

Sanders has become a fan-favorite in Cleveland, so the Browns have to either allow him the chance to play, or let him move.
