Buccaneers' offseason workouts begin April 20. Dive into the phased program, from conditioning to team drills, as the Bucs prepare for the season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers kick off their first day of workouts for 2026 on Monday, April 20.

The team's voluntary practice sessions are scheduled for May 26-28, June 2-4 and June 9-11.

The Bucs' mandatory minicamp opens one week later, running from June 16-18.

According to the NFL and NFLPA Collective Bargaining Agreement, the nine-week program is broken up into three phases, with each phase progressively more game-like.

Phase One is made up of the first two weeks of the overall program, but consists of limited physical activity. This first phase is limited to meetings, rehab and strength and conditioning, with absolutely no on-field practicing.

The following three weeks make up Phase Two, where players begin limited on-field work.

According to the NFL's official press release, acceptable workouts include "individual or group instruction and drills, "perfect play drills" and drills and plays with offensive players lining up across from offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players, conducted at walk-through pace."

Phase Two still permits teams from live contact drills, with offense vs. defense reps being permitted.

The final four weeks are grouped into Phase Three, where teams can hold a total of 10 days of team practices, or OTA's. Teams are able to perform 7-on-7, 9-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills, but they cannot have full, live contact.

Each NFL team is also permitted to hold one mandatory minicamp for veteran players who choose not to participate in many of the voluntary workouts, which must take place during Phase Three.

For teams with first-year head coaches, their season starts a bit earlier.

On Monday, the Baltimore Ravens were the lone team to kick off their offseason, but they will soon be joined by the nine other teams with a new signal caller.

The Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans will all begin their offseason programs Tuesday, taking advantage of the additional time to acclimate with their new head coaches.

Teams are also granted a seven-week rookie development program starting as early as May 11.

During this period, activities must take place during the week, aside from a single post-draft rookie minicamp that may be held on one of the first two weekends after the draft. The NFL announced specific minicamp dates will be announced at a later time.

For head coach Todd Bowles, these practices will be crucial for getting all of the new players in the Bucs' locker room up to speed as the team looks to reclaim its NFC South crown.
