The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are continuing their search for a new offensive coordinator to replace Josh Grizzard, who was ousted on Jan. 8. That same day, former OC Todd Monken's name was floated as a possible replacement for Grizzard.
On Wednesday, the Buccaneers will interview Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, multiple sources reported. After three seasons in Baltimore, Monken remains on the job for the Ravens, but that position has been in doubt since Jan. 5, when the team let go long-time head coach John Harbaugh.
Monken was OC in Tampa for three seasons, from 2016-2018, under head coach Dirk Koetter.
On Tuesday, the Bucs held a virtual interview with Mike Kafka, the team announced.
Kafka was the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants and remains the team's interim head coach after the Giants fired Brian Daboll on Nov. 10.
Kafka spent four seasons leading the offense for the Giants. Before that, he worked with head coach Andy Reid for five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, spending time as offensive quality-control coach, quarterbacks coach and passing-game coordinator. He began his coaching career in 2016 as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Northwestern.
Despite having three quarterbacks start at least one game at some point during the season, the Giants finished with the No. 13 overall offense in the league, with 333.5 yards per game. That includes 129.1 rushing yards per game, which was fifth-best in the NFL. Their passing game ranked 21st, with 204.4 ypg.
Before joining the Ravens, Monken spent three seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Georgia, where he was a part of the Bulldogs' back-to-back national championship runs in 2021 and 2022.
Monken has also been offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns (2019) and at Oklahoma State (2011-2012). Monken served for three years as a head coach at Southern Miss from 2013-2015.
Monken is also getting interest in the head-coaching hiring cycle this offseason as one of many reported candidates for the Browns.
Injuries hampered the Ravens during the 2025 season, finishing as the No. 16 offense in the league, averaging 332.2 yards per game. Baltimore had the No. 2 rushing offense in the league at 156.6 rushing yards per game (only Buffalo ranked higher, with almost 160 yards per game), but ranked just 27th with 175.6 passing yards per game.
The Buccaneers are reportedly up to six candidates for the vacant offensive coordinator position. The team has also interviewed former Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan, Detroit Lions pass-game coordinator David Shaw, Arizona Cardinals quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork and Atlanta Falcons OC Zac Robinson. Mike McDaniel, fired as head coach of the Miami Dolphins, is reportedly interested in the OC job in Tampa.
