There was plenty of discussion about the Los Angeles Chargers’ cornerback room heading into the 2026 season. While the group has depth and several players who can be reliable contributors, the Chargers still do not have that obvious, established superstar at cornerback.
That makes this a massive season for Tarheeb Still.
Still enters his third NFL season with the opportunity to change the conversation around the position. The Chargers have already shown that they believe in him, and there are plenty of reasons to think he can take another step forward. Now, though, it is about proving that he can be more than just a reliable piece of the secondary.
He needs to become the guy.
The Chargers currently have Still competing with players like Donte Jackson and Cam Hart for significant snaps at outside corner. Jackson brings veteran experience after a strong 2025 season, while Hart has continued to develop. But Still is the younger player who could potentially establish himself as the long-term answer at the position.
That is what makes 2026 so important.
