The Kansas City Chiefs dominated the inept Chargers on Sunday, and these players were the key.

The Kansas City Chiefs got a solid win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday as they posted a 22-6 victory, and they had plenty of risers in this weekly stock report. Some of them are obvious, but others come in under the radar as the Chiefs held off a team that can’t get out of its own way to up their record to an impressive 5-0.

Kenneth Walker III, RB

Walker is clearly the most obvious choice, and it seems fairly apparent that he’s going to qualify for this list every week. His stats against the Chargers included 128 yards and 19 carries with a pair of touchdowns, and the most remarkable thing about this was that this kind of stat line is starting to seem normal from him. A bigger test awaits against is old team, however, as the Chiefs go on the road to meet the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.

Patrick Mahomes, QB

Mahomes, too, could make this list on a weekly basis, but there was something different about what he did against the Chargers on Sunday. The quarterback found several receivers who aren’t normally involved in the Chiefs offense, including Cyrus Allen, Jalen Royals and Andrew Armstrong, and that could be an important development going forward as the Chiefs start to face tougher defenses. He also finally got receiver Xavier Worthy involved, which might be a bigger development.

The offensive line

This group continues to operate under duress with an ongoing stream of injuries, but they keep coming through with big performances. Mahomes wasn’t sacked at all, and he took fewer hits as the Chiefs obviously made some adjustments to keep that from happening. Walker is still getting too many yards on his own, but it’s going to be hard to change that until everyone returns and Kansas City can give him better support in the run game.

Xavier Worthy, WR

The Chiefs have been waiting for Worthy to show up and give them a big game, and this was a step in the right direction. Worthy still needs to provide big plays and prove he can be durable, but seven catches for 73 yards was a lot better than what he was submitting earlier in the season.

The secondary receivers

We noted the contributions of Allen, Royals and Armstrong, but tight end Noah Gray deserves to be added to this group as well. He stepped up with three catches for 53 yards, including one for 31 yards, and having him available to take some of the heat off Travis Kelce is a noteworthy development in its own right.
