The Chiefs are reportedly adding former Ravens kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad following Harrison Butker's latest struggles in Sunday's loss to Seattle.

The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly making a significant move at kicker following Harrison Butker's continued struggles.

According to Sam McDowell of The Kansas City Star, Kansas City is signing former Baltimore Ravens star Justin Tucker to its practice squad.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport also reported the move Wednesday morning.

Tucker, 36, is an eight-time All-Pro selection and one of the most accomplished kickers in NFL history.

His arrival comes just three days after Butker missed two field goals in Sunday's 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Butker missed from 58 yards late in the first half and pushed a 45-yard attempt wide right in the fourth quarter. He converted a 50-yard field goal for Kansas City's only points.

The veteran has made just 11 of 16 field-goal attempts this season, a 68.8% success rate.

He has also missed four kicks over the past two games, including three field goals and an extra point.

Coach Andy Reid acknowledged the problem following Sunday's defeat.

"He's been one of the most consistent kickers in football. He's off a bit, so got to fix it," Reid said.

The Chiefs have previously expressed confidence in Butker's ability to overcome his struggles, but Tucker's addition introduces another option.

Tucker spent 13 seasons with Baltimore, making seven Pro Bowls and earning five first-team All-Pro selections.

He converted 89.1% of his career field-goal attempts with the Ravens and owns the NFL record for the longest successful field goal, a 66-yarder against Detroit in 2021.

However, Tucker struggled during his final season in Baltimore, converting just 22 of 30 field-goal attempts in 2024.

The Ravens released him in May 2025 amid allegations of sexual misconduct involving massage therapists.

Tucker denied the allegations, but the NFL subsequently suspended him for 10 games for violating its personal conduct policy. He has not played in a regular-season game since 2024.

According to NBC Sports, Tucker has since worked out for several teams, including the Saints, Colts, Jets and Dolphins.

The Chiefs' decision to add him to the practice squad does not necessarily mean Butker will lose his starting job.

But it gives Kansas City an experienced alternative as the team prepares for Sunday's AFC West showdown against Denver.

With the Chiefs coming off their first loss of the season, the kicking situation has suddenly become one of their most closely watched storylines.
