Former Kansas City Chief and current Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill posted on X regarding the hiring of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

The Kansas City Chiefs had a historic season in 2025, but for the wrong reason.

Missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014 is heartbreaking, but also impressive for the Chiefs’ organization that has held itself to an incredibly high standard since Coach Andy Reid took over in 2013.

What’s even more heartbreaking was watching star quarterback Patrick Mahomes go down with a brutal left knee injury. The two-time Most Valuable Player tore his left ACL and LCL as well as enduring structural damage to his PCL.

He’s in good spirits and updated the media last week, saying he’s trying to be ready for Week 1 of next season and that his doctors have to step in and make sure he’s not overworking himself in rehab.

Mahomes had another MVP-caliber season, though it was cut short, despite the team’s lack of success. The Chiefs finished the year 6-11 and ended on a six-game losing streak, but Mahomes did everything he could to will his team to the playoffs.

It was just a down year for Kansas City. As an offense, they reconfigured the offensive line and were missing their top two receivers for half of the season. The receivers led the league in drops, leading to several losses, and the offense just didn’t look good as a whole.

While many think the Chiefs’ run of dominance is over, it may have just caught a second wind. Kansas City re-hired Eric Bieniemy to be the new offensive coordinator, a role he held from 2018 to 2022 en route to two Super Bowl championships.

Mahomes loved his experience with Bieniemy as his OC, as did the rest of the team. Star tight end Travis Kelce spoke highly of him at length, and Bieniemy’s return may have earned Kansas City at least one more season of Kelce.

His return also caught the attention of Miami Dolphins receiver and former Chief Tyreek Hill, who is a cut-candidate given his huge contract.

“EB to the Chiefs hm,” Hill wrote Thursday on X.

Similar to Mahomes, Hill had a gruesome season-ending knee injury in 2025 and he at least contemplated the thought of retiring. The Dolphins are in a hole and Coach Mike McDaniel was fired and hired by the Los Angeles Chargers to be their OC.

Hill posted about McDaniel’s departure as well, using the same wording that he did in the Bieniemy post. Who knows if the Chiefs would welcome a reunion with Hill, but when he’s healthy, he is one of the best receivers in the game and his peak with Kansas City and Mahomes was one of the best.
