The Indianapolis Colts downgraded defensive end Tyquan Lewis (groin) to out for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

PITTSBURGH, Penn. — The Indianapolis Colts (7-1) will be thin on the defensive line on Sunday as they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) at Acrisure Stadium.

On Saturday, the Colts downgraded defensive end Tyquan Lewis from questionable to out, as he deals with a groin injury.

Lewis did not practice at all last week after leaving the Oct. 19 game against the Los Angeles Chargers with his injury. Despite also sitting out of practice this Wednesday, Lewis practiced in full on Thursday and Friday, leading to optimism for his availability this Sunday.

In seven games this season, Lewis has seven tackles (four for loss), 3.0 sacks, three quarterback hits, and one pass breakup. He's tied for second on the team, both in sacks and tackles for loss.

To make up for the absence of Lewis and fellow defensive end Samson Ebukam (knee), the Colts called up Durell Nchami from the practice squad for the Steelers games.

This will be Nchami's second consecutive game being active. He accrued two tackles last week in a win over the Tennessee Titans.

Last week, without Lewis and Ebukam, defensive end Kwity Paye played 42 snaps, Laiatu Latu played 39, JT Tuimoloau played 35, and Nchami played 29 snaps. Defensive tackles DeForest Buckner and Adetomiwa Adebawore played 15 and nine snaps, respectively, on the end.
