One of the biggest remaining moves in the NFL is whatever the Indianapolis Colts decide to do with quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr.

Quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. is reporting to the Indianapolis Colts (ESPN's Stephen Holder), as they are in the midst of Phase 2 of the offseason program.

The future of quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. has been near the top of mind when it comes to Indianapolis Colts topics for the last two months, as the former fourth-overall draft pick is seeking a trade out of Indy for a fresh start elsewhere.

There have been several checkpoints reached and passed without Richardson being dealt. The news of his trade request happened during the NFL Combine in late February. However, despite the NFL world being present in Indianapolis for the Combine, and then again a few weeks later in Phoenix for the annual league meetings, nothing for Richardson came to fruition.

Then, the 2026 NFL Draft came and went at the end of April without a move. Since then, the Colts have declined Richardson's fifth-year option, and he reported to the team for offseason workouts after spending the first couple of weeks away, working out in Jacksonville.

At this point, will Richardson be traded or not? That's what Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports is one of the biggest moves still to be made across the NFL.

"The writing is on the wall regarding Richardson's eventual departure from Indianapolis," DeArdo wrote. "The Colts would obviously prefer to trade Richardson, but that may not happen until a team suffers an injury at quarterback during either minicamp or training camp.

"As far as potential landing spots, Richardson would be a good fit on a team that either has a young starting quarterback or one that has a similar skillset. Two teams that come to mind are the Dolphins (who have Malik Willis at QB1) and Ravens."

Richardson's career got off to a promising start, with him earning the starting quarterback role early into training camp and the preseason of his rookie year. After four games, he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, but there was no question who the team's quarterback was going into 2024.

Richardson's second season  was tumultuous, at best. His play was incredibly rocky and inconsistent before he was benched for two games. His backup, Joe Flacco, wasn't much more effective, which led to Richardson's reinsertion in the lineup.

From there, Richardson did continue to show some promise with a pair of fourth-quarter comeback victories. However, the Colts brought in competition for Richardson in the 2025 offseason, and Daniel Jones has been the team's starting quarterback ever since.

Injuries and inconsistent play have led the Colts and Richardson to where they are now. He's been available for just 29 out of 51 potential games due to injuries, and then there was the benching on top of it. His 47.7% completion percentage in 2024 was also a single-season franchise low.
