A day after slashing their roster from 90 players to 53, the Indianapolis Colts have filled 15 of 17 spots on the practice squad:

RB Ulysses Bentley IV: The second-year undrafted player had a great summer and was a popular pick to make the roster after making several explosive plays in the passing game.

RB Anderson Castle: Castle is a power back who averaged nearly five yards per carry and has some experience on special teams.

WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: A veteran receiver who could've easily made the roster. He's got a history of stretching defenses vertically, scoring nine touchdowns for the Tennessee Titans in 2024.

WR Anthony Gould: The Colts' primary return specialist for the last two years averaged over 10 yards per punt return and over 25 yards on kickoff returns last year.

TE Pharaoh Brown: The 32-year-old can provide insurance while Will Mallory is out for at least the first four games on Injured Reserve with a thumb injury.

OL Josh Sills: The Colts feel Sills has five-position flexibility on the line.

OT Luke Tenuta: Tenuta began the offseason as the favorite to earn the swing tackle role, but he was released on Monday and signed to the practice squad.

OT Nolan Rucci: The undrafted rookie was draftable and had a solid summer, although he missed some time in training camp with an injury.

OT Roy Mbaeteka (IPP): The Colts are Mbaeteka's sixth team since 2022, as he develops as part of the International Player Pathway program. The Colts get an extra, protected spot on the practice squad for such players.

DE Mitchell Melton: Melton rarely saw action beyond the third-team and developmental-team defenses, but he consistently made plays as a pass rusher.

DT Cam Ball: There were high hopes that Ball could steal a roster spot by the end of the summer, but he didn't quite seal the deal. He's still got some promise, but needs more time to develop on the practice squad.

LB West Weeks: Weeks was arguably the UDFA the Colts were most excited about. They envisioned a special teams ace when they signed him as an undrafted rookie this year, and while he isn't on pace for the start of the regular season, they'll continue to develop him behind the scenes.

CB Kenneth Harris: Harris was a late addition to the Colts, being claimed about a week ago while parting with Mekhi Blackmon. Harris was a prominent special-teamer in college.

CB Rob Carter Jr.: Carter made a handful of plays during the summer but was anything but consistent when the preseason began. He'll continue to develop on both special teams and inside and outside at cornerback.

S Trey Washington: Washington fell victim to a numbers game, but the Colts were happy with how he performed this summer, developing both physically and mentally. He made a handful of interceptions and pass breakups during camp and even forced a fumble in the Colts' preseason finale.

S Daniel Scott: Scott is a solid special-teamer when he's on the field, but going into Year 4, last season was the first action he's been able to get in the regular season. He suffered ACL and Achilles injuries in his first two offseasons, and a knee injury limited him to just four games last year.

Also on Monday, the Colts claimed cornerback Kapena Gushiken off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles and released offensive tackle Luke Tenuta. They then signed Tenuta to the practice squad.
