INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts (7-1) have made a move for a veteran defensive end, signing free-agent Tanoh Kpassagnon to the practice squad. In turn, the Colts released undrafted rookie defensive end Seth Coleman from the practice squad.
Kpassagnon was signed following a workout on Monday in a group that also included defensive ends Rashad Weaver and Casey Toohill, linebacker Grayson Murphy, and cornerback LaMareon James.
Kpassagnon (6'7", 289, 31 years old) is a former second-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 draft. He played for Kansas City until 2020, earning 24 starts along the way while also winning a Super Bowl for the 2019-20 season.
He has also spent time with the New Orleans Saints (2021-24) and was with the Chicago Bears this season, appearing in four games. That includes 89 snaps on defense and another 19 on special teams.
In 108 career games (34 starts), Kpassagnon has totaled 146 tackles (23 for loss), 17.5 sacks, 44 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovered, and nine pass breakups.
The Colts are currently dealing with injuries to defensive end Samson Ebukam (knee) and Tyquan Lewis (groin), as both players missed last Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans. Ebukam is considered week-to-week, while Lewis is day-to-day.
Kpassagnon joins Durell Nchami as the practice squad defensive ends behind Laiatu Latu, Kwity Paye, JT Tuimoloau, Ebukam, and Lewis on the active roster.
