The Indianapolis Colts recently signed a player who is far too experienced to be the fourth quarterback on the roster. Meanwhile, Anthony Richardson Sr. remains on the trade block.
INDIANAPOLIS — On Monday, the Indianapolis Colts announced several roster moves.
They signed veteran free-agent quarterback Easton Stick, as well as undrafted rookies center Josh Kreutz and cornerback Jai'Onte McMillan. In corresponding moves, the Colts waived quarterback Seth Henigan, guard LaDarius Henderson, and cornerback Wyett Ekeler.
Stick's addition makes him the fourth quarterback on the roster, which is an ill-fitting role for the eighth-year pro on a team like the Colts.
From the time he entered the league as a fifth-round pick with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2019 until 2022, as well as 2024, Stick served as the team's third quarterback. In 2023 and in his brief time with the Atlanta Falcons in 2025, Stick served as the immediate backup.
For his career, Stick (6'1", 224, 30 years old) has played in six games and started four.
The Colts have their starter in Daniel Jones, and Anthony Richardson Sr. and Riley Leonard are currently competing for the QB2 role. However, Richardson has been on the trade block since February.
Does Stick's addition have anything to do with Richardson and a potential upcoming move?
"Just brought him in to get him up to speed with everything, but good competitor, really smart, has some familiarity with the offense," Colts head coach Shane Steichen answered when asked about why the team signed Stick. Steichen was Stick's position coach and then offensive coordinator with the Chargers in 2019 and 2020.
"Obviously, some things have changed, but get him in here, get him up to speed, and see where it goes," Steichen continued. "But I like the athlete, and I like the player."

His father, Olin, was a two-time First-Team All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowler for the Chicago Bears.
Josh Kreutz is now among a deep group of centers that includes Tanor Bortolini, Dalton Tucker, Jimmy Morrissey, and Geno VanDeMark.
McMillan (5'10", 190) began his college career at TCU (2020-23) before transferring to Minnesota (2024-25). He started 4 of 55 career games and played 728 total defensive snaps. He totaled 55 tackles (2.5 for loss), 1.0 sack, 1 interception, and 5 pass breakups.
McMillan spent 321 snaps either playing the slot or in the box, even playing a handful at safety. He also played quite a bit on special teams throughout his career, totaling 477 snaps.
Other Colts cornerbacks include Sauce Gardner, Charvarius Ward Sr., Justin Walley, Cam Taylor-Britt, Mekhi Blackmon, Jaylon Jones, Johnathan Edwards, Cameron Mitchell, and Rob Carter Jr.
