The first domino in the Washington Commanders schedule has officially dropped with a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts set in London
The first domino of the Washington Commanders 2026 schedule has come out with details of the international game announced on Wednesday morning.
The Commanders will host the Indianapolis Colts for a 9:30 AM in week four of the 2026 regular season, per the Commanders. It will serve as a home game for Washington.
The league previously announced that the Commanders were set to take part in the NFL international games with the game set at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, sponsored by NetApp.
The speculation that the Commanders and Colts would meet materialized this week while fans previously noted the stadium announced the date of the Commanders' international game in their online list of events.
Washington will now look for its first win in Europe while this marks the second time that Washington has played in London after doing so in 2016 when they tied the Cincinnati Bengals at 27. The Commanders also returned to play internationally in 2025 against the Miami Dolphins in Madrid, falling 16-13 in overtime in what proved to be a deflating game for Washington.
The international meeting marks the first between the Colts and Commanders since 2022 with Indianapolis leading the all-time series, 21-13. Indianapolis won the last four matchups prior to a 17-16 win for Washington after quarterback Taylor Heinicke, who announced his retirement last week, punched in a touchdown with 22 seconds left in the game.
While the first domino has officially dropped for Washington, the NFL will release the full slate of international games on Wednesday before the schedule release show set for Thursday night at 8 PM.
In addition to the divisional home and away opponents, the Commanders will also host the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. Washington will also travel to face the Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans.
Washington is also looking to turn the page after a five-win 2025 regular season, marking two polarizing seasons for head coach Dan Quinn as he and the front office enter a pivotal year three with the organization ahead of the 2026 regular season.
