The full 2026 regular season schedule for the Washington Commanders has officially been released.
After days of leaked matchups, the full 2026 regular season schedule for the Washington Commanders has officially been released.
The Commanders, who rank 16th in the NFL in both miles traveled (18,491) and strength of schedule, will open the season against consecutive divisional opponents on the road with the Philadelphia Eagles in week one followed by Dallas Cowboys in week two.
It marks the first opener in Philadelphia since 2019 while Washington has lost four of its last five in Dallas.
The NFL previously announced the Commanders will face the Indianapolis Colts as part of the 2026 International Games with the two teams meeting for a 9:30 AM kickoff at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in week four. With NFL allowing teams who play in the international game to choose whether the bye week will materialize the following week, the Commanders instead will face the New York Giants at home in week five. While the matchup at home seven days later could spark a tough turnaround, it also avoids 13 consecutive games to end the regular season.
Week six against the 49ers could add an additional layer of intrigue beyond just Commanders and 49ers given the ongoing Brandon Aiyuk saga, marking a date for either a matchup or energized reunion back in San Francisco.
Washington will enjoy a bye week in week seven before hosting the Eagles then Los Angeles Rams, marking their first trip to DC since 2020.
Week ten serves as the first of two primetime games with the return trip against the Giants in week ten before facing the Cincinnati Bengals at home the following week.
The primetime matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals will serve as the second meeting between the teams on Monday Night Football and first since Washington's 38-33 win when Jayden Daniels completed all but two of his 23 pass attempts while tossing his iconic 27-yard touchdown to Terry McLaurin.
Washington will then enter a potentially easier stretch, first with road games at Arizona in week 12 then Tennessee in week 13 against a pair of first year head coaches. Houston then Atlanta head to Washington the following two weeks for 1 PM kickoffs.
Week 16's matchup marks the second consecutive year that Washington has faced Minnesota on the road, along with Daronte Jones' return to his former stop. Week 17 against the Jaguars will mark the first meeting between the two teams since 2022 before closing out the regular season against the Dallas Cowboys.
