For the second consecutive year, the Washington Commanders climbed the leaderboard with the annual NFL Players Association team report cards released on Thursday.
The Washington Commanders ranked third overall in the updated team report card, finishing behind the Miami Dolphins, who led the way for the third consecutive year, and the Minnesota Vikings.
The Washington Commanders were also one of four teams across the NFL to draw at least a 'B-' in every category alongside the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins and Minnesota Vikings. Washington also ranked ahead of the Seattle Seahawks fresh off a Super Bowl, while they marked the only NFC East team to rank inside the top half of the overall rankings given the Philadelphia Eagles ranked 20th with the Dallas Cowboys one spot behind, while the New York Giants ranked 25th in the league.
Washington also drew an 'A+' in three categories, including both head coach for the second year in a row. Team ownership also saw a slight bump from an 'A' last year to an 'A+' this year.
The most encouraging? Turning around an 'F' grade for the locker room into a 'B', along with turning the grade for the team's training room from a 'C+' to 'A-'. Washington also drew a 'D+' for their food program grade two years ago, a stark improvement compared to the 'A-' received in 2026. One blemish was the grade for team travel dropped from 'A' to a 'B-', a possible test for a team set to participate in the international games for the second consecutive year with a trip set to London for a game during the 2026 season.
It marks the latest string of encouraging feedback for the organization after new leadership invested in additional resources and amenities around the team, such as the Commanders' improved food program over the last two years.
Whether the updated grades end up materializing into added success in the acquisition phase of the offseason remains to be seen after the franchise transformed both the short and long term outlooks with Josh Harris stepping in as the new managing partner in the post-Dan Snyder era.
