The Washington Commanders are evaluating a second all-SEC defensive back with local ties with a top-30 visit reportedly set

With free agency slowing by the day, attention has remained on the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft with several schools set to take part in their Pro Days this week, giving general manager Adam Peters and the Washington Commanders another chance to get eyes on their draft targets and prospects. But with one SEC school already wrapped up after hosting their Pro Day last week, the Commanders are reportedly set to see one day two target.

The Washington Commanders are among the teams who are expected to host former Georgia cornerback Daylen Everette on a top-30 visit, per multiple reports.

He becomes at least the second known cornerback to meet with the Commanders after former LSU star cornerback Mansoor Delane met with the Commanders. He also becomes the second DMV defensive back to meet with the Commanders given Everette is a Virginia native himself.

A former blue chip prospect out of IMG Academy (FL), Everette played all four seasons with the Bulldogs where he largely played on special teams as a true freshman. But then Everette became a bigger part of Georgia's secondary, starting in every game in 2023 where he posted one interception and 29 total tackles. Everette followed it up with three interceptions and three pass deflections in 2024 before posting ten pass deflections in 2025, good enough for the fifth most within the SEC.

Everette was also named a Third Team All-SEC selection by the coaches in each of his last two seasons with Georgia, while the Associated Press named him a First Team All-SEC selection as a senior.

"He gives tremendous confidence to a secondary that's going to be young next year. Daylen is a kid that ever since we met him, no challenge is too big. He loves to practice. He loves to compete. He demands excellence, and he is here representing us today. I'm proud of Daylen," head coach Kirby Smart said of Everette at SEC Media Days last year.

ESPN ranks Everette as the 11th best cornerback in next month's draft, though his label as a likely day two pick could make him a realistic target for the Commanders, who currently have one pick that day with the 71st overall pick in the third round.

It would also mark an expected continued focus at the position for Washington despite Amik Robertson becoming the first free agent to sign this offseason. Robertson's arrival could make him the new nickel corner with Mike Sainristil and Trey Amos set to return, but attention at the position remains despite addressing several other spots in free agency. Between the first two selections, Washington has a chance to address both the wide receiver and cornerback rooms with athleticism after flashing at the Senior Bowl.
