The Dallas Cowboys are just about out of playoff contention as we enter Week 16, but that hasn't stopped the franchise from doing some moving and shaking.
On Wednesday, the Cowboys made three moves. Corner Josh Butler, running back Phil Mafah, and defensive end Payton Turner all had their 21-day practice window opened and returned to practice at The Star.
What that means is the trio could be activated off Injured Reserve and potentially play against the Los Angeles Chargers at AT&T Stadium.
For now?
"It's just a chance to get them on the grass and see the guys compete," coach Brian Schottenheimer said. "I know they're excited to get out there and play the game that they love."
Given Dallas' season, we have posed the question of what the franchise does in the remaining three games of the year. Schottenheimer, Dak Prescott, and Jerry Jones have all stated that winning games is the most important thing.
Yeah, we get that.
But what is also important is to see what you have in the younger players on your roster, and say, "Organically Tank,'' as our own Mike Fisher says.
Do the potential activations of Mafah, Butler, and Turner point to some moves being made ahead of Sunday? It might be tricky to expect them to play after just one week of practice.
Still, the fact that Dallas now has those three players on the practice field means there will be a chance to see all at some stage down the stretch.

It is going to be an interesting watch for the Cowboys over the next three weeks to see how the roster looks from game to game because to us, there is no reason not have the younger players on the roster getting their feet wet.
Mafah, Butler and Turner are all practicing, and Cowboys Nation hopes it seems all three on the field before the 2025 season comes to an end.
