Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer is insisting it'll be all gas, no brakes, with three games left in the year.

Ever since the Dallas Cowboys lost to the Minnesota Vikings last week, there has been a question many wanted to ask ahead of the final three games of the season.

How would the Cowboys play it from a personnel standpoint.

Our own Mike Fisher calls it "Organically Tanking," where you don't go out playing to lose, but instead of starters playing all 60 snaps, you let rookies and other young players get their feet wet.

And you allow a loss to occur "organically.''

Doing that would likely see Dallas not give itself the best chance at winning, but with no playoffs, it doesn't matter.

Losing could improve your draft hand.

And at The Star on Wednesday, head coach Brian Schottenheimer was asked if the Cowboys are officially eliminated from the playoffs, which could happen Saturday if the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Commanders, could we see Joe Milton?

"I want to win," Schottenheimer said. "So, plan would be to play Dak."

Right, there we have it. Four little words. "I want to win.''

    And maybe one major mistake.

Unless Schotty is bluffing even just a little bit? It reaffirms Dallas' stance that it won't compromise winning games for the sake of getting younger players snaps and improving its draft position.

And Fish isn't on board with that plan.

"It's idiotic,'' Fish stated. "It's macho-meathead football foolishness over intelligent analysis.''

The Cowboys currently hold the No. 14 and No. 23 draft picks in the first round of the draft, so maybe trying to get that No. 14 up to No. 10 could be worthwhile?

    Apparently not.

The other thing to think about is the injury aspect of it.

Given we are only three weeks away from the end of the season, the last thing the Cowboys want is a serious injury to a star player.

Patrick Mahomes went down with an ACL injury, which could compromise the start of the season for the Kansas City Chiefs. Dallas doesn't want something like that happening.

Starters playing in meaningless games isn't the smartest idea.

Let's hope "macho meatheadedness'' doesn't come back to bite Dallas in the behind.
