Former Pro Bowler Marcellus Wiley faces new domestic battery charges as past sexual assault allegations resurface, prompting the veteran broadcaster to launch a fierce defense against mounting legal turmoil.
FRISCO - Marcellus Wiley, the former NFL Pro Bowler and Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman who has created a second career for himself in sports broadcasting, is once again in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Wiley, 51, was arrested on charges of domestic battery on Saturday, July 4.
Court records show that Wiley was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and he is currently being held without bond.
Accusations about conflicts with women have followed Wiley - who played in Dallas in 2004 as part of his decade-long time in the NFL - for years.
A recent Rolling Stone article cited accusations of sexual assault by four women in April 2026, causing Wiley to respond by calling those "blatant lies.''
Wiley has also denied rape accusations made by three women while at Columbia.
And the Rolling Stone story includes claims by another woman that Wiley groomed her since she was 13 years old during his time playing for the Buffalo Bills - and that she was raped by him in Dallas, while he played for the Cowboys - when she was 18 years old.
"Marcellus Wiley raped me on my 18th birthday, after grooming me from the age of 13," the victim wrote, adding that he referred to her as ‘little momma.’ "If Columbia had properly pursued the complaints … I would never have been groomed and raped."
Wiley, who earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2001 as member of the San Diego Chargers, was for a time a high-profile personality at ESPN and then at FS1. He's now a popular podcaster.
Wiley was the 52nd overall pick of the 1997 NFL Draft out of Columbia, starting with the Bills before eventually starred with Chargers and the Cowboys before finishing his playing career after the 2006 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
