Williams was a mid-season arrival last year, and now, he's seeing the benefits of a full offseason in Dallas.
You could make the case that Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Quinnen Williams was in a tough position last season.
A mid-season trade acquisition, Williams had to come to a new team, learn a new system, learn his teammates, and still was expected to play at a high level.
That's asking a lot, and at times, we saw flashes of the All-Pro talent he possesses.
But it was fleeting, and the Cowboys' defense needed more from him, and in truth, everyone else on the roster as well. However, Quinnen was learning on the fly, and that is difficult.
Now, he's settled, by his own words, and has gotten to see the benefits of a full season with the Cowboys.
A chance to build friendships with his teammates, learn what makes them tick, plus get an understanding of the coaching staff and what they want from him.
And all of that points to what fans hope will be a better version of Quinnen in 2026.
“It's been fun,” Williams said of the offseason. “Just being with the organization a full offseason, how things work, how things go here, and now just getting the chance to work with some great people, some great guys in the locker room. You get to learn more about each other, get to push each other, hold each other accountable, and just grow and learn as a player myself."
And the big reason for the fun is Christian Parker, the new defensive coordinator.
With the hiring of Parker, seen as one of Dallas' best offseason "signings," many have high hopes for what the defense could be under Christian and what he has in store for players like Williams.
After all, a full offseason means that Williams will have every detail of the scheme memorized.
“Christian Parker, man, it's just amazing to be around a guy who's won at a high level everywhere he's been, who's been around for a little minute on some great defenses under some great people and just getting to learn from him and his philosophy on his own,” Williams added.
So, it is fair to say Quinnen is in a good spot right now.
After being a whirlwind of a 2025 season where he was uprooted from New York and put in Dallas, amid all of the turmoil the defense was going through, now he's in a much better place.
And Cowboys Nation hopes that under Parker, it'll be a different version of Williams they see in 2026.
